i've tried to put alsa into the kernel and compile the kernel with alsa as modules. when i'm trying to load the alsa oss mixer emulation modules...

<23:11:06><Tue Jun 21></lib/modules/2.6.12-gentoo/kernel/sound/core/oss>
root@eNTi # modprobe snd-mixer-oss

...dmesg gives me this:

Installing spdif_bug patch: Audigy 2 ZS [SB0350]
unable to register OSS mixer device 0:0
unable to register OSS PCM device 0:0

Comment 2 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-13 08:07:12 UTC
Can you try using alsa-driver instead of in-kernel drivers?

Comment 3 Alexander Jenisch 2005-07-13 08:26:04 UTC
this is actually resolved by now.
