Hi Please find attached a .tar.gz with an ebuild and digest for XSI 4.2. It supports XSI and XSI Foundation by Softimage (http://www.softimage.com). At the moment it doesn't work with sandbox due to the softimage installer it calls. Future updates will manually handle more installation aspects so it can be run without needing FEATURES="-sandbox" Let me know if you need anything further for it to be acceptable. Cheers, Alan.

Hi Alan, please never attach tarballs to bugzilla. All we want are text files. We also do not want or need digests, manifests or changelogs. Just ebuilds and patches, that's all. If any gentoo developer takes a digest from bugzilla and puts into portage, they're getting fired. Please reopen after you've reattached the ebuild as plaintext.

Hi Guys, Is there something further I can do to help progress this? Cheers, Alan.
that large package requires some time to figure out how to deploy in the right way (your way may work but isn't quite clean), you did quite a huge job but we have to review the ebuild and make sure it is in the right shape. Such task could take about one or 2 days nobody currently has. I'm sorry but the larger and lesser checkable (closed source or messed source), the more delayed its commit.
Hi Luca, No worries - thanks for dropping me a line. If anyone has any questions about it they can feel free to ask. The main reason a lot of the mess is there is because the softimage installer broke the sandbox. So I had to mess with kdiff3 to compare the tarballs with the installer and get it to create any config files etc that the softimage installer did. Though I'm more than happy to be given directions for cleaning it up. Cheers, Alan. (this is an automated message based on filtering criteria that matched this bug) 'EBUILD' is in the KEYWORDS which should mean that there is a ebuild attached to this bug. This bug is assigned to maintainer-wanted which means that it is not in the main tree. Hello, The Gentoo Team would like to firstly thank you for your ebuild submission. We also apologize for not being able to accommodate you in a timely manner. There are simply too many new packages. Allow me to use this opportunity to introduce you to Gentoo Sunrise. The sunrise overlay[1] is a overlay for Gentoo which we allow trusted users to commit to and all users can have ebuilds reviewed by Gentoo devs for entry into the overlay. So, the sunrise team is suggesting that you look into this and submit your ebuild to the overlay where even *you* can commit to. =) Because this is a mass message, we are also asking you to be patient with us. We anticipate a large number of requests in a short time. Thanks, On behalf of the Gentoo Sunrise Team, Jeremy.
