I found Gentoo Linux by happy accident. I needed a Linux install for some application research I intend to do.I would have been much much keener on using Gentoo if I had realised what application packages were available as ebuilds!J2EE, PHP4, MySQL, boa, cocoon... I needed to find and install these, I only realised there were ebuilds for them after several days of setup work.
