miniz is used as a dependency for a project I am contributing to (https://0xacab.org/orbea/jgemu/-/tree/master/games-emulation/jgrf).

Can keywords for all architectures be added? I would like to at least see what the blockers are.

Normally we wait until a package in Gentoo needs it.

If you're likely to submit this package to ::gentoo, I guess we can make an exception if matthew is fine with it.-

I was hoping to spot the issues early so that if miniz is too problematic another option can be found.

And yes, I will submit a PR to add most of these ebuilds when upstream stabilizes media-libs/jg (headers) and games-emulation/jgrf (frontend). Most of the steps in that process are already done.
