apache2.1 has even more new exciting features.

we once had one in our previous existing svn overlay.

chipig? would you mind ...?

need to create the APR 1.1.* ebuilds first, and get them in. Then we can look at importing httpd 2.1. This also needs coordination with Subversion, since to use mod_dav_svn, Subversion must be compiled against the *SAME* APR version as httpd. Subversion can safely use APR 1 or APR 0.9x however.... So, I am not sure how we want to do this.

Sidenote: APR 1.x can be safely SLOTed and installed at the same time sa APR 0.9x

chipig: hmm... do we have any problems in providing apr-1.1.x ebuilds? at least, where we know how to SLOT and BLOCK?

We plan to provide ebuilds after stabilizing new-style apache settles down.
