There was a already a bug filed concerning the IT8212 Driver, which is some kind of a messy SCSI driver. Alan Cox made an ide layer driver which is working perfectly for this controller card.
The patch can be found in the current -ac kernel ( just the 821x.{h,c} )

There are a few unsolved issues with this driver reported on the linux kernel mailing list. Please reopen this bug when the driver has been completed and is included in Linus' tree.
