Description vijayk 2005-03-17 12:24:00 UTC
When I try to emerge --update xorg-x11, I get a compilation error. The relevant portion of the emerge output is below:

you probably don't want to hear this -- but it's likely a hardware issue -- how are your temperatures?
Comment 2 Donnie Berkholz (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-03-18 01:57:01 UTC
Can you reproduce, in the _exact_ same place?
Comment 3 strafi 2005-04-03 06:44:47 UTC
Hello, i have got exact the same error

so i think this is not a hardware issue!!!

i also can reproduce this error

it allways exit on the same point:(

hmm, it seems that i never will get a "new" working gentoo on my machine. allways new errors and bugs, i also have a problem by merging syslog-ng but i think this is a different story:-/

please do something...
Comment 4 Joshua Baergen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-04-03 09:43:42 UTC
The line it refers too while failing is the end of a function with a tonne of return points (1 return point for every 3 lines on average). Have you tried compiling with softer options, such as -O1?

And strafi, could you attach your emerge --info please?
