Does postgres need "less", specifically, for anything? I've only grepped the code, but it looks like any pager will work so long as $PAGER is set. And that is taken care of automatically in gentoo by "eselect pager", which comes with "eselect" -- no separate packages needed.

If postgres doesn't need "less" itself, can we replace "sys-apps/less" with "virtual/pager" in CDEPEND?
