--symptom--
% sudo tail /var/log/messages  # edited for content
Feb 21 19:27:26 localhost (gontran-14020): starting (version 1.0.8), pid 14020

`xml:readonly:/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.mandatory': Couldn't resolve address for
configuration source:  Can't read from or write to the XML root directory in the

Possibly upstream problem...  Ebuild chmod hack suggested. :)

Hi!

There are no gconf ebuilds on cvs now.

I don't think you intended to fix the bug that way did you :)
