Support for XFS filesystems appears to be absent from the linux-gentoo-2.4.19-r9
source tree.  It was present for r7.

as of -r9 XFS is now supported strictly in the xfs-sources

the reason for it is that certain patches in gentoo-sources-r9 do not play nice 
with XFS ... so for now xfs is only in xfs-sources ...
