I think I can confirm, with koffice 1.2-final and current kde cvs. Hm...

I've added the patch from there (which as I understand is from the koffice 1.2x stable 
cvs branch) and made a koffice-1.2-r1 which fixes the problem for me.

Just emerged koffice-1.2-r2 and kivio can connect objects again.  Thanks Dan.

However, Kontour still can't draw lines :-(
