libfabric just made it into the tree, but depends on the legacy version of libibverbs for RDMA verbs support. The in-tree rdma-core project (https://github.com/linux-rdma/rdma-core) provides the current up-to-date version, in addition to other services that are needed; libibverbs alone is not enough to actually work at runtime.
