So I can't speak on whether or not it works. If the Makefile were modified to use a system package instead, which would be "dev-go/qt", that _might_ work, but that package is currently masked. To answer succinctly, no I don't think it has, and it's much easier for myself to use the binary in this case.
Seeing as even using .deb rather than .rpm packages (which still bundle Qt libraries) results in "frontend error", slashbeast and I have decided to last-rite this package.
