When trying to emerge media-sound/snd-6, I get an error saying that the packaged digest doesn't match the computed digest. However, the tarball looks to be in perfectly fine condition. Suggestion: delete the old digest, generate a new one, make sure everything still works (it did for me), commit the new digest. Owen
nebuchadnezzar snd # ls -al ~trinity/ |grep snd -rw-r--r-- 1 trinity trinity 4344925 Sep 9 01:08 snd-6.tar.gz nebuchadnezzar snd # ls -al /usr/portage/distfiles/ | grep snd -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4366065 Aug 26 15:54 snd-6.tar.gz ok, here's the thing. the one in /home/trinity is a direct download from the snd homepage. the one in /usr/portage/distfiles is the one off our ibiblio mirror. somewhere something is wrong, and the paranoid part of me thinks, "security risk!!" Naz, please investigate soonest.

I will look into this .. this weekend..
Ok this is not a security issue, the snd-6 tarball is just always in flux on the main page it's not static like I thought it was. The author says it usually changes weekly so just need to do snapshot release of the package, I guess
If I understand correctly, it looks like the current snapshot on ibiblio is out of sync with the current digest. In any case, I'm still seeing the same problem when I've tryed to "emerge snd" within the last week. It appears to be doing the download from ibiblio, but the digest still doesn't match, so I assume based on comment #4 that the snapshot approach was implemented, but somethings out of sync again. On the other hand the status doesn't indicate that the bug is fixed, so I'm a little confused. On a related note, is there some easy way to tell emerge to ignore the digest mismatch and the ibiblio mirror and just grab whatever is on the project homepage? Thanks! Dale
just added 0.6.7 please check and feel free to a) mark it stable b) remove 0.6.ebuild
