When wanting to install from gentoo universal livecd 2004.3 both orig and r1, I get a error: "psmouse.c: bad data from KBC - bad parity" constantly in console. rendering it impossible for me to install gentoo :-). Trying to install on my Acer Travelmate 540 Laptop with a synatptic mouse pad. Never had this error before 2004.3 live cd. Best Regards fbxmaster
Try booting the LiveCD with "gentoo psmouse.proto=imps" and see if you still have a problem.
hmm trying to boot with gentoo psmouse.proto=imps didnt do the trick still a million of the original error messages cam and prevented me to install gentoo brgds fbxmaster
also tried passing the options "bare" and "exps" and "PS/2" to psmouse.proto also with no luck regards fbxmaster
