Description Peter Ruskin 2002-09-04 15:24:30 UTC
New installed 1.4beta with gcc-3.2. pysol-sound-server-3.00 emerged OK with
pysol-4.81-r1 but there is no sound. It works fine on the same box when
booted in to 1.2 (gcc-2.95) on another partition. Remerged, no error
messages, still the same.
Comment 1 Peter Ruskin 2002-09-04 20:06:33 UTC
$ pysol
PySol: pysolsoundserver module not found, sound disabled.
...but it *is* there:
$ ll /usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages/pysolsoundserver.so
-rw-r--r--    1 root     root       169704 09-05 01:57
/usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages/pysolsoundserver.so

Comment 2 Peter Ruskin 2002-09-04 20:32:38 UTC
python -> help -> pysolsoundserver gives:
problem in pysolsoundserver - ImportError: /usr/lib/libsmpeg-0.4.so.0:
undefined symbol: __gxx_personality_v0

I have just emerged pysol and pysol-sound-server and had no problems accessing
things even following your instructions for getting the problem to display.

Did you ever convert your system from gcc2 to gcc3? Possibly smpeg was
originally compiled with gcc2?
Comment 4 Peter Ruskin 2002-12-16 07:39:41 UTC
Correct, well spotted. I converted from gcc2 to gcc3 some time ago. So today I
remerged smpeg and then pysol-sound-server built and works fine. I'm happy :-)
