net-print/hplip-3.20.9 which is not yet in the tree added a dependency on net-dns/avahi and hplip already has support for python3.9.

@Anthony: I just added hplip-3.20.9 without python3.9 support. If you find the time to add it to avahi it would be great if you just add it back to hplip as well.

Now that we have a deadline for the switch to python3_9 as default implementation (see URL), please add python3_9 support to this package ASAP in order for users to find any regressions...

In the avahi ebuild the python thingy is fake:
There is nothing _python_ in the resulting tree !

Ok, when using USE=bookmarks you have some python: These all emerge after adding a python3.9 compatibility tag. ... but I haven't tested the python scipts running

Yes, I’ve made a pull request to hopefully fix it.
