Description Eivinn Hustveit 2002-09-04 06:55:13 UTC
KDE3.03 crash default mp3-player when clicking on mp3-file from konqueror. To
fix this I need to use XMMS as default mp3-player. Trivial error...
Comment 1 Hannes Mehnert (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-09-04 08:27:01 UTC
have you installed kdemultimedia?
Comment 2 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2002-09-04 08:46:47 UTC
should this be taken to the forums until more information can be tracked down ?
Comment 3 Eivinn Hustveit 2002-09-04 08:52:39 UTC
I have installed kde-multimedia yes. Haven't touched anything before trying to
open a mp3-file. Use kernel sound driver
Comment 4 Dan Armak (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-09-04 13:33:49 UTC
Default mp3 player is noatun, right? What happens if you run noatun explicitly
and open and play an mp3? If it crashes, run it from a konsole and note the
output.
Comment 5 Eivinn Hustveit 2002-09-09 06:01:49 UTC
When I run noatun explicit and open an mp3-file it plays normally -> with no
errors at all. It just crashes when opened from konqueror.
Comment 6 Eric Webb 2002-09-29 17:55:51 UTC
I am having the same trouble. THough, it doesn't seem to be only MP3 files.
Konqueror crashes when clicking on any audio media for me.

Same behavior if xmms or noatun is the default player.

Comment 7 Hannes Mehnert (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-10-12 10:14:55 UTC
please try if this is still a problem with kde-3.0.4.
Comment 8 Hannes Mehnert (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-11-15 10:47:42 UTC
any progress here? contain your cflags/cxxflags -fomit-frame-pointer (there seem to
be some problems with kdemultimedia and -fomit-frame-pointer)? please try without
-fomit-frame-pointer.
Comment 9 Hannes Mehnert (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-12-16 21:22:08 UTC
is there still this problem in kde-3.0.4?
or can this be closed?
Comment 10 Eivinn Hustveit 2002-12-17 09:18:49 UTC
This problem seems to be resolved with KDE 3.0.4-r3
