To speed up things.

Stu Tomlinson (from gaim bugtrack):

"This looks like a gtkspell / enchant bug, and/or a gtk theme
bug, and you're using gentoo, and you filed this in gentoo's
bug tracker too, so I'm closing this."
Comment 2 Don Seiler (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-08 10:17:04 UTC
Yes Stu is right and why did you file in gaim's bug tracker?
Comment 3 Selecter 2004-12-09 11:38:45 UTC
With default gtk theme:

GLib-GObject: value "-2146479797" of type `gint' is invalid or out of range forproperty `weight' of type `gint'

Chat window has quite normal size now, but gaim doesn't save its size for next opened chat windows. So I have to resize it over and over again. I know it is offtopic, but... Is it normal?
Comment 5 Don Seiler (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-13 10:58:35 UTC
Is your enchant problem fixed?
Comment 6 Selecter 2004-12-13 11:09:20 UTC
See comment #3
I am not sure if it is fixed. Chat windows is still very long in width.
Comment 7 Don Seiler (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-13 11:12:53 UTC
I was just talking about the enchant/gtkspell bug, which has nothing to do with window sizes.
Comment 8 Selecter 2004-12-13 11:38:37 UTC
Yes, it still present.
Comment 9 Don Seiler (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-14 07:30:34 UTC
And you have installed aspell-ru?
Comment 10 Selecter 2004-12-14 09:26:15 UTC
I hadn't :)
Comment 11 Don Seiler (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-14 10:28:55 UTC
Is your window size still not being remembered?
Comment 12 Selecter 2004-12-17 05:35:07 UTC
Yes. How do I know that:

1. Open chat window to user "John"
2. Resize it
3. Close it
4. Open chat window again and size of windows and position becomes default.
Comment 13 Don Seiler (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-01-14 11:35:19 UTC
Gaim doesn't remember window positions, except for the buddy list. I assume you're talking about conversation/chat windows.

Are the sizes still not being remembered? Are you using gaim-1.1.1?

Try to rm .gaim/prefs.xml and let it recreate it. Are you using any non stock plugins?

Waiting to hear back from reporter.
