Description Jack 2020-07-27 17:24:26 UTC
I just installed fwupd (first tried 1.3.0, then 1.4.4) and "rc-service fwupd start" fails with:
 * Starting elogind ...
 * start-stop-daemon: /lib64/elogind/elogind is already running                                                                                                                         [ !! ]
 * ERROR: elogind failed to start
 * ERROR: cannot start fwupd as elogind would not start

Reproducible: Always

Not sure why it's trying to start elogind instead of just checking if it's already running.

I cannot reproduce this so it has presumably already been fixed. That said, if it does reoccur with 1.8.3 or newer this looks more like a problem with OpenRC - the init script clearly states "need elogind".
