Samba <=4.11.6 has no dependency on dbus, but sys-apps/dbus was added to samba-4.11.7+ and 4.12.0+ ebuilds without a dbus use flag to disable it. I didn't see anything in the Samba changelogs that indicated a hard dependency on dbus was added in 4.12.0 or 4.11.7. I edited the ebuild for samba-4.11.7 to add a use flag check on dbus? to the CDEPEND and Samba compiled and runs successfully. With the bump to samba-4.11.8 (and now 4.11.9) emerge keeps trying to pull in dbus every time I emerge -u world. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge -pv samba 2. 3.
