search engine don't actually find anything Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. go to URL https://packages.gentoo.org/ 2. search for instance "youtube" Actual Results: search engine won't even find youtube-dl Expected Results: at least show matching results, added points for fuzzy search.
Thank you for the report. The search behaviour has already been fixed in [1]. It's just not deployed yet. But I can confirm, that searching for "youtube" returns youtube-dl, when using the fix from [1]. Fuzzy search might be an idea for the future. We might give Elasticsearch's fuzzy query a try. Can you push to packagestest.g.o please Max?
Sorry Michael, I for one cannot deploy to packagestest.g.o. But I've passed it on.

Hello, hit this today while searching for "DBD-Pg". It does not find anything, even though there is https://packages.gentoo.org/packages/dev-perl/DBD-Pg Btw the title of this bug should probably contain "packages.gentoo.org" somehow, so that it is clear what it is about. Something like "packages.gentoo.org: search fails" would be probably more appropriate.
right
Apparently this does work for other packages, while it doesn't work for DBD-Pg. I will dig into this further.
This should have been fixed some time ago since we use the new search algorithm. Thus I'm going to close this bug. Please don't hesitate to let us know if you still encounter any problems.
