Yes, I see supersed ebuild has been changed to install as ssed already, but it doesnt include a man page or infos, and I already wrote this ebuild last night :) I also include it because it is the ebuild that has weird behaviour for me with newman (bug 6917) so I can point to it if needed. Paul
Created attachment 3357 [details] alternate supersed ebuild
the man and info pages are identical to sed there is _nothing_ different about them
Sorry, they are different. Most notably the infos go into superseds wonderous perl regexp abilities. eg. [squish.home.loc] /usr/share/info (Set): ls -l ssed* -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 15734 Aug 23 02:28 ssed.info-1.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 16381 Aug 23 02:28 ssed.info-2.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 8416 Aug 23 02:28 ssed.info-3.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1321 Aug 23 02:28 ssed.info.gz [squish.home.loc] /usr/share/info (Set): ls -l sed* -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 9118 Aug 23 13:50 sed.info.gz The man page is _almost_ the same, though, and not uptodate with the info, I imagine. Yes, I grow weary of supersed, but I reopen this bug, as the reason for closing is factually wrong. Paul

odd, i thought i set this up to depend on it rather than duplicate it ... my bad ... i guess thats the clue to goto sleep now ;)
I did something a little different to your proposal, but it works :) thanks for it.
