In gnome-2.8, the program gnome-default-applications-properties does not remember Text Editor settings.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. run gnome-default-applications-properties
2. Click on the Text Editor tab
3. Attempt to change any preference under this tab

Actual Results:  
This error message is given with every object you click on:
(gnome-default-applications-properties:3240): libgnomevfs-WARNING **: Deprecated
function.  User modifications to the MIME database are no longer supported.

The changes are not saved.

Expected Results:  
The preferred application preferences should be saved.
