Description Adam Feldman gentoo-dev 2017-12-12 00:10:41 UTC
Name: Nick Sarnie
Nick: Sarnex
Mentor: NP-Hardass, mattst88
Areas of contributions: Mesa, Mozilla, Virtualization, Wine, X11
Tree access: Yes

Nick is a 22 year old programmer from Massachusetts. He works in the compiler optimization field. He has been using Linux for 4 years, starting with LMDE where he got involved with the Gallium Nine project. Two years after that, Nick switched to Gentoo as NP-Hardass helped him install Gentoo, long Handbook paste after long Handbook paste in IRC. He eventually came to maintain the Gallium Nine patchset for app-emulation/wine*. After lurking and helping out in #gentoo-kde, #gentoo-mozilla, #gentoo-desktop and some encouragement from his mentors, he decided to give back to the community by becoming a developer.

Nick has spoken with the leads of the Wine Project and we'd like him to join upon becoming a developer. Additionally, although they have no lead currently, Nick has also spoken with his other mentor, mattst88, about joining the X11 project upon becoming a developer.

Quizzes have been completed at the time of filing this bug and recruiters should expect an update to this bug shortly by Nick indicating that he has submitted them to the recruiters email alias.

Hi Mikle,

I have finished correcting the quizzes on my end and am going to go over them again with my mentor, NP-Hardass.

I will reopen this bug when I re-submit the quizzes to the recruiters.

Thank you.

Nick
