Oracle released a new version of SQL Developer on 2017-07-11. Newest upstream release: 17.2.0.188.1159 Newest version in portage: 4.2.0.17.089.1709 Upstream changed their version number system, so the difference between upstream and latest gentoo ebuild looks bigger than it actually is. In fact, it's just one release behind. Having the newest version in portage would still be nice, though.
I have copied ebuild for 4.2.0.17.089.1709 (together with files/sqldeveloper-r1) as sqldeveloper-17.3.1.279.0537.ebuild (which is the current version) and it just works. Could you add this to the tree? The currently available ebuilds are useless with their instruction about where to download (fetch restriction) from.

Hi everybody, the current version of sqldeveloper is 19.4.0.354.1759 I am willing to proxy-maintain this, as I need sqldeveloper at work anyway. For this I have updated the ebuild a bit and have pushed to my overlay layman/seden. If someone could please check that ebuild, I'd PR it up then.
