On the Gentoo forums there are several links to HTTP URLs: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/index.xml http://overlays.gentoo.org/ http://www.gentoo-cn.org/ http://wiki.gentoo.org/ http://www.gentoo.de/ http://gentoo.org/doc/pl/handbook http://gentoo.org/doc/pl/list.xml http://www.gentoo.org/ http://www.frozenliquid.net/ http://www.gossamer-threads.com/ http://www.phpbb.com/ From those all gentoo.org-links default to https. So linking the HTTP version just causes unnecessary redirects, the HTTPS version should be linked. gentoo.de, frozenliquids.net, phpbb.com are all available over HTTPS as well. gossamer-threads.com is the only one not available over HTTPS. gentoo-cn.org doesn't seem to exist any more, it just forwards to a page that looks like spam and unrelated to gentoo, so the link should probably be removed.
