Description Gleb 2017-08-31 15:37:51 UTC
Probably new Skype for Linux won't last long as there are already another new application using the same Electron.

The new app has the same design and version number as Win & Mac variant, and is actually awful.

I temporary added an ebuild to my overlay https://github.com/rion-overlay/rion-overlay/blob/master/net-im/skypeforlinux/skypeforlinux-8.8.76.60544.ebuild

Seems to work.

I don't know though if they updated rpm with new versions by the same link.

Works nicely, thanks!

Download URI without version number is a very bad thing. But I discovered that they also provide saner download source: https://repo.skype.com/rpm/unstable/ .

RPMs names can suggest that we should consider this as another version of net-im/skypeforlinux package.

Sadly I can't test it more thoroughly because I can't get past login screen but it doesn't segfaults so it is a good sign :).
