The standalone courier IMAP server was updated to 4.18.0 a couple weeks ago: http://www.courier-mta.org/download.html#imap Previous versions don't build with >=courier-unicode-2 (I get unknown type: unicode_char). I tried copying the existing 4.17.3 ebuild (as 4.18.0), and the four 4.17 patch files (as 4.18), and the package built successfully. Only the version numbers of the patch files within the ebuild needed changing. It is now running without requiring any configuration changes. For reference, I am running ~amd64 with the following courier package versions: # eix -cI courier [I] net-libs/courier-authlib (0.68.0-r1@06/07/17): Courier authentication library [I] net-libs/courier-unicode (2.0@06/07/17): Unicode library used by the courier mail server [I] net-mail/courier-imap (4.18.0[1]@06/07/17): An IMAP daemon designed specifically for maildirs [1] "local" /usr/local/portage
Thank you for testing and the report.
Note that without this bump, I'm getting compilation errors on courier-imap-4.17.3 unless I add two entries to package.mask: >=net-libs/courier-unicode-2.0 >=net-libs/courier-authlib-0.68.0 While we could mask those for everyone to keep things working, clearly the better solution is to push out this update.
Now missing 2 bumps, 4.18.1 is the latest release.
Does anyone want to proxy maintain this? https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Project:Proxy_Maintainers
I just bumped my local copy of the ebuild to 4.18.2 and everything still works well. Not sure I'd be suitable to proxy maintain, as I run ~amd64 and only use the non-ssl imapd locally.
