Current [Overlay] already includes:

           app-emulation/vmware-modules-308.5.7:0

To me, this bug seems to be FIXED / OBSOLETE.

we are at Version 308.5.7 now.


Harry Landgarten's (Thanks!) patch introduces a "308.5.7-r1" :

For kernel version 4.13, _vmmon_ will need patches in

In the vmware repository vmware-modules already compiles with 4.13, the patch you link is something extra out of my knowledge. I won't add to the vmware repo if vmware is working without it because I don't know how to evaluate the difference in behaviour w/ or w/out the patch

I still have to add support to kernel 4.14 in the repository, thanks for the link
