A makefile adopted for gentoo

This package does not a 'configure' command, so I edited the makefile.

Anybody want to try their hand at writing an ebuild for this one?
Comment 3 Octavio Ruiz (Ta^3) 2005-06-08 14:59:21 UTC
Most of the work are done inside nethack ebuild, maybe more than a new ebuild it
could be and gtk2 USE flag for nethack (gtk2hack includes nethack). Just some
includes changes, some patches that needs to be applied for nethack are already
on gtk2hack, etc.. etc.. Unfortunately I really dont like rogue-like role games
so there is no enthusiasm from my part. :-| Sorry about that. Lets play FPS
games! :-P

That sounds like a much better idea.
Comment 5 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2005-07-02 15:40:38 UTC
this doesnt need to be added to the current ebuild right ? this can be a sep
package ?
Comment 6 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-05 08:45:25 UTC
The original request was for it to be a separate ebuild. However, it might be
easier to make it simply a USE flag. I'll leave that up to you.

At this point in time, I'm opposed to hacking the nethack sources to integrate
gtk2hack. Pester the Nethack development team into supporting gtk2 and we'll
talk next release.

Is there still any interest in this? And, more importantly, does gtk2hack still work with current gtk versions? I personally don't care about graphical nethack frontends, so I won't look into this if nobody is interested in using it.
