"Documentation" links at Packages.Gentoo.org should use links of the form: https://wiki.gentoo.org//wiki/Special:Search/FOO not: https://wiki.gentoo.org/index.php?title=Special%3ASearch&fulltext=Search&search=FOO so that (1) an exact title match will bring users directly to that wiki article, (2) a match to a redirect page will bring up the target article (i.e., redirects will be followed automatically), and (3) a "fulltext" search will be done only if no exact title match is found. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. At Packages.Gentoo.org, find a package like "sudo", "gnome", "thunderbird" or "thunderbird-bin" (something with a same-named article on Wiki.Gentoo.org, possibly behind a redirect) 2. Follow the "Documentation" link. 3. Marvel at the search results. Actual Results: Search results come up including a link to the exact title that doesn't look like any of the rest of the search results. The list of search results below that will (probably) contain the exact title match somewhere, but it might not be very easy to find. Expected Results: If there is a wiki article with the same name as the package, it should come up immediately. Only when there is no such exact match should the "Page title matches" and "Page text matches" results be presented to the user. Background and further details: Each package page at Packages.Gentoo.org has a "Documentation" link (in the right-floated "Resources" box) that leads to a "fulltext" search on Wiki.Gentoo.org. Unfortunately, because the links are to "fulltext" searches instead of regular search results, exact title matches don't lead users directly to the relevant articles but instead to somewhat intimidating (and possibly confusing) search results. This is a particular problem when the title being searched for is a redirect to a relevant article title. For example, the page: https://packages.gentoo.org/packages/gnome-base/gnome links to: https://wiki.gentoo.org/index.php?title=Special%3ASearch&fulltext=Search&search=gnome instead of: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Special:Search/gnome The former (currently used) search gives a lot of results that are probably not relevant to users coming from Packages.G.o. It essentially "buries" the most relevant result (the title "Gnome", which is a redirect to the actual "GNOME" article) between the prominent "Content pages Multimedia ... Advanced" search options box (which for some users may be expanded, compounding the problem) and the list of "Page title matches", which is where most users will probably be looking, since that list looks like typical "search results". (The redirect title is listed among the page title matches, but is the 3rd result, while the actual article is the 14th. Other examples may be better or worse than this one. "sudo", for example, brings up a ton of translations that make it very hard to find the English article.) The latter search (what I'm recommending) would have gone directly to the "GNOME" article (by way of the "Gnome" redirect), which is what most users would probably expect. Note that if there were no "Gnome" page title, then the latter search would have automatically turned into a "fulltext" search, so there is really NO reason to "hardcode" fulltext search URLs at Packages.G.o.
First link in description above has a typo that makes it not work right (goes to Main Page instead of search results page). Should be: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Special:Search/FOO Oops.

Thank you for the suggestion. This has already been implemented some time ago. Thus I'm going to close this bug. Feel free to add another one, if anything is still missing in your opinion.
