utftest1.txt

st crashes when trying to display REVERSED HAND WITH MIDDLE FINGER
EXTENDED. I have attached "utftest1.txt". Just do "cat utftest1.txt" to
crash your terminal.
Comment 1 Amadeusz Żołnowski (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2016-12-18 18:47:03 UTC
It happens if I change "font" in default savedconfig to following:

    static char font[] = "Fira Mono:pixelsize=13";
Comment 2 Amadeusz Żołnowski (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2016-12-18 18:50:44 UTC
If I install media-fonts/unifont-9.0.04 WITHOUT changing font in st or without even recompiling it, it does not crash any more. Why?
Comment 3 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2016-12-19 07:57:01 UTC
Perhaps it's caused by the width or height of the character?
Comment 4 Jonas Stein gentoo-dev 2020-05-05 00:04:23 UTC
could not be confirmed on the upstream mailing list. Have you been able to reproduce it, jer?
Amadeusz, please retest with current versions in the tree and report.
Comment 5 Amadeusz Żołnowski (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2020-05-10 21:04:22 UTC
I no longer use st on Gentoo. Let's consider it non reproducible.
