Created attachment 456528 [details, diff] Fix for seg fault on GTK GUI init Without GUI support (--disable-ui), e-uae has no means to change floppies (and probably has issues loading/saving states as well, but that's not a feature I use). GUI support was removed as the "fix" for bug #415787. I have attached a patch (to e-uae, not the ebuild) which can be used to actually fix the seg fault, or, if you don't want to patch it, you could at least not disable the GUI with 32-bit builds, since the bug only affects 64-bit. Since this is effectively a duplicate of bug #415787, feel free to mark it as such; I just didn't feel like reopening a 4-year-old bug. Perhaps it's time to move to some other uae variant that isn't dead upstream (e.g. bug #403913; 2.8.2 released this month).
The best option would be to rely on bug 403913, do you want to proxy maintain that new package?
(In reply to Pacho Ramos from comment #1) > The best option would be to rely on bug 403913, I already switched to fs-uae as I was reporting this bug. It has issues compared to e-uae, but works well enough. > do you want to proxy maintain that new package? No. I have no money and must use public locations for power and internet for my computer, so my related activities are very limited. I don't want to waste time getting into the gentoo maintainer business; I'd rather just finally kick the habit. The more packages that get into my /usr/local/portage (currently 185), or that have USE changes because nobody bothers to test docs, examples, etc. (currently 40) and the longer it takes for emerge to finally figure out what it wants to do (currently 9-20 minutes) the more incentive I get to finally dump gentoo.
