net-wireless/wpa_supplicant-2.5-r2 with qt5 enabled, will not show the tray icon in plasma 5.  When wpa_gui is opened, it just creates a blank space in the system tray.  If qt5 is disabled and qt4 is enabled, then the tray icon appears as it's supposed to.

Please take this upstream - it sounds like a bug in wpa_supplicant, which should be reported upstream :)

I'd like to but after visiting their website, I don't see how to report a bug.

Looks fine to me at least in wpa_supplicant-2.6-r1 - can you confirm?

An icon shows now but it is hard to see with the oxygen theme and almost completely blends in with breeze dark in kde.

a difficult to see icon is upstream's issue.  sounds like any gentoo bug here was already resolved.
