The firefox-bin package creates /usr/bin/firefox-bin with a line that says "unset LD_PRELOAD". This apparently was apparently from a "fix" for mozilla-launcher trying to force libaoss (see: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=229227). Since neither mozilla-launcher nor libaoss are in the tree any more, I think this could be dropped. It should also probably prepend LD_LIBRARY_PATH instead of replacing it.

Well you are correct the LD_PRELOAD could be drop'd. I am not interested in supporting firefox-bin with system libraries, that is the whole reasoning behind replacing the LD_LIBRARY_PATH instead of prepending it.
If you feel I have closed your bug and it is still a current issue, please reopen and update it completely. We will not work bugs that have no ebuild in tree any longer or can not be reproduced with a current system. Thank You for your support and understanding The Mozilla Team
