Most probably any ebuild that inherits the java-utils-2.eclass will fail with prefix profile [prefix/linux-standalone/amd64]. An example is when installing
sage-jmol-bin-14.2.11-r1 from the sage-on-gentoo overlay (https://github.com/cschwan/sage-on-gentoo/issues/431). The java-utils-2.eclass for the indicated profile is from the gentoo main tree and making the replacement ${D} -> ${ED} in java-utils-2.eclass seems to resolve the issue.

@heroxbd: is stand-alone RAP? I noticed prefix version of java-utils-2 adds a lot of ED here and there.

I haven't touched this in a while. I rarely us the java-utils-2.eclass. But it does appear that the jaava-utils-2 that's presently in the tree has been corrected and is working, at least here, as it should. I think this can be closed if you wish.

Steven, thanks for looking into this.

@Fabian, yes, standalone is the profile-name of RAP.
