http://blog.qt.io/blog/2016/06/16/qt-5-7-released/ 5.7.0 ebuilds are already available in the qt overlay. They will be moved to the main tree *after* 5.6.1 has been stabilized, in order to get as much testing of 5.6.1 as possible.
FTR we need this for KDE Applications 16.07.80 (for minuet).

The only important blocker for bug #589412 that is not fixed is media-video/vlc. One that is resolved, I'd like to bump 5.7.1 (once released) unmasked.

VLC seems fixed, any plans or may be ETA for 5.7.x unmasking?
