Hi, I just had to debug a host that wouldn't boot. It's / is on an mpt2sas controller. The driver *was* mpt2sas, but as of some point in the past, that has changed to mpt3sas. As we were relying on the initramfs generated by genkernel to load the necessary driver the machine naturally failed to boot. I had got the same. As the kernel 4.2.26, shipped with gentoo, make use of mpt3sas, this is now impacting. I am on a production host, reporting emerge --info.
