The BOINC project has released the 7.6 series of their client software.

There are no ebuilds, yet.

I think there should be some old ebuild need to be filled too,

according to the official page
http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download_all.php

official recommend about linux stable ver is 7.2.42 which is not in current portage tree

Although the new ebuild for boinc-7.6.31 is in the tree, the ebuilds for version 7.2 and 7.2 need some cleaning.

I am reusing this bug for the three clean-ups, because andcycle is right. The 7.2 ebuild is ancient.

I have upgraded all three ebuilds for the 7.2, 7.4 and 7.6 series.

They are included in this pull request:

All three series now have ebuilds in the portage tree.
