Are we close there for getting a freeze fix for i915 as well, or it's not that common to happen to intel users? Though I guess other fixes might happen in xf86-video-intel or some other places too. Maybe we'll even get an upstream release of xf86-video-intel. Oh wait, whom am I kidding.

I already custom-patched with Chris' copy-paste patch from the fdo bug, and yes it works. These full commit patches look solid to me, too.

These patches seem to resolve the issues here.
xorg-server-1.18.3 includes a fix for this.
