The update of app-text/zathura-pdf-mupdf to the version 0.2.9 leads to an error with color displaying by zathura programs itself (screens are attached).

The version 0.2.8 is okay with everything else unchanged. Mupdf backend program (mupdf-x11) displays colors correctly, so the only issue is apparently in the zathura-pdf-mupdf plugin.

This is an regression in version 0.2.9. Upstream already knows about it and will fix it in the next release. Until then, you can just stick with 0.2.8 or apply the patch at https://lists.pwmt.org/archive/zathura/2016-January/001456.html .

Upstream is going to push out a fixed release soon:
  "<mlq> aranea: We will certainly release a new version in the next days"
