ebuild
Comment 2 Gleb 2016-02-14 17:16:18 UTC
I think that proposed ebuild needs more work to be done.

1. The latest release brings new theme for Xfwm4 with a11y features. It should be installed the same way as compact theme (see 1.5.3 ebuild).

2. Xfwm4-compact theme is should no longer be Greybird_compact. Now it is Greybrid-compact (also, a11y is also with "-" and not "_").

3. Even 1.5.3 which is stable (and 1.6.2) contain xfce-notify-4.0 theme called Greybird-bright which gets installed incorrectly (you won't find it in the Notify list). It should be installed the same way as Xfwm4-compact by creating separate directory in themes (for example, Greybird-bright or Greybird_bright).

4. 1.6.2 release brings Gtk 3.16 features and compatibility, so as Gtk 3.16 is stable it would be great to have this theme in portage.

5. There's also a Grebird.emerald. Maybe it would be great to have a use flag for this too because we have the same for Metacity and for Unity.

I made a new ebuild which fixes described problems and has emerald use flag. If not necessary, then feel free to remove it.

greybird-1.6.2 ebuild with fixes

Gtk+ 3.20 breaks compatibility with themes from previous version.

https://github.com/shimmerproject/Greybird/issues/120

In the link above there is a description of the problem and a working patch (I'm using it).

I think we have to wait until upstream fixes greybird for Gtk+ 3.20 and then, update the ebuild after all this time.

3.18.0 is in the tree.
