Description Aaron Peterson 2004-07-04 03:43:06 UTC
this, for applications, could just prelink the applications.

the ldd? command, or whatever is used in revdep-rebuild could search for programs that use newly emerged libraries, and re- prelink those

rev-dep rebuild should be done automatically / and or be predicted / kept up to date with every emerge (thsese kinda go togher, but the rev-dep rebuild be done automatically is probably already a feature idea of portage-ng... if it's not... well, it should, and I'll report a seporate bug.. (bug contains featurereequest, because it's "bugzilla"

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

note, I couldn't find the portage section of bugzilla today.. maybe i'm going
blind?

I moved the 'portage' category into its own product.
Product: Portage Development

Prelinking after every merge would be quite painful for many
people. Hooks will be added eventually that will let you set
things like this up to your heart's content.

People who want that can do it with /etc/portage/bashrc
