I have Apache 2.0.49-r3 installed and when I do a emerge -up apache. Emerge returns: [ebuild N ] net-www/apache-2.0.49-r4. Shouldn't that be an Upgrade, not a New package? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Have Apache 2.0.49-r3 installed 2. emerge -up apache Expected Results: New apache package should be an upgrade, not a new package.
Can you paste the results of 'emerge info' please? Also, the output from /var/tmp/portage/apache-2.0.49-r3/build-info/SLOT. And the output from /var/tmp/portage/apache-2.0.49-r4/build-info/SLOT after you have emerge'd it. Thanks, Stu
Hmm after actually emerging apache-2.0.49-r4 it did replace 2.0.49-r3, but did not indicate that it was going to do so when I ran emerge -up apache. Well for future reference, the info is below. # emerge info Portage 2.0.50-r8 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.3.3, glibc-2.3.3.20040420-r0, 2.4.25-gentoo-r4) ================================================================= System uname: 2.4.25-gentoo-r4 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.66GHz Gentoo Base System version 1.4.16 Autoconf: sys-devel/autoconf-2.57-r1,sys-devel/autoconf-2.59-r3 Automake: sys-devel/automake-1.7.5-r2,sys-devel/automake-1.8.3 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-O2 -march=pentium4 -funroll-loops -fprefetch-loop-arrays -pipe" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" COMPILER="gcc3" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.1/share/config /usr/kde/3.2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/mozilla/defaults/pref /usr/share/config /usr/share/texmf/dvipdfm/config/ /usr/share/texmf/dvips/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/generic/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/platex/config/ /usr/share/texmf/xdvi/ /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -march=pentium4 -funroll-loops -fprefetch-loop-arrays -pipe" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs ccache cvs keeptemp keepwork noauto noclean notitles sandbox userpriv usersandbox" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://mirror.tucdemonic.org/gentoo/ http://gentoo.eliteitminds.com ftp://ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/gentoo/" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="" SYNC="rsync://rsync.namerica.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="X alsa apm arts avi berkdb bonobo cdr crypt cups curl divx4linux emacs encode esd foomaticdb gdbm gif gnome gpm gstreamer gtk gtk2 gtkhtml guile imap imlib java jpeg ldap libg++ libwww live mad maildir mikmod motif mozilla moznocompose moznoirc mozsvg mpeg mplayer mysql nas ncurses nls oggvorbis opengl oss pam pda pdflib perl png python qt quicktime readline sasl sdl slang spell ssl svga tcltk tcpd tetex truetype x86 xml2 xmms xosd xv xvid zlib" #cat /var/tmp/portage/apache-2.0.49-r3/build-info/SLOT 2 #cat /var/tmp/portage/apache-2.0.49-r4/build-info/SLOT 2
Closing. Please re-open if this is still an issue with current apache and [sys-apps/]portage.
