Description Matthew Baxa 2004-06-29 11:47:46 UTC
I have Apache 2.0.49-r3 installed and when I do a emerge -up apache. Emerge returns: [ebuild N ] net-www/apache-2.0.49-r4. Shouldn't that be an Upgrade, not a New package?

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have Apache 2.0.49-r3 installed
2. emerge -up apache

Expected Results:
New apache package should be an upgrade, not a new package.

Can you paste the results of 'emerge info' please? Also, the output from /var/tmp/portage/apache-2.0.49-r3/build-info/SLOT. And the output from /var/tmp/portage/apache-2.0.49-r4/build-info/SLOT after you have emerge'd it.

Thanks,
Stu

Hmm after actually emerging apache-2.0.49-r4 it did replace 2.0.49-r3, but did not indicate that it was going to do so when I ran emerge -up apache. Well for future reference, the info is below.

Closing. Please re-open if this is still an issue with current apache and [sys-apps/]portage.
