Description Marcin 2015-05-02 09:05:21 UTC
I get this error every startup and every dmesg run "nouveau E[ PFIFO][0000:01:00.0] SCHED_ERROR [ UNK08 ]". I use hardened kernels and haven't got this error in lines 3.17.x and 3.18.x.

I have kernel set according to https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Nouveau - so Nouveau (nVidia) cards is compiled.

/etc/portage/make.conf VIDEO_CARDS="intel nouveau"

I'm using ~amd64.
Comment 2 Marcin 2015-05-10 08:21:02 UTC
With newest 4.0.1-hardened it's ok.
Comment 3 Marcin 2015-05-16 09:15:06 UTC
For a moment it looked like I don't have it on kernel line 4.0.x but still I have it both for hardened (4.0.1, 4.0.2-r1) and not hardened (4.0.3).
Any ideas what it means and how to fix it?

?
Comment 5 Marcin 2015-05-16 13:48:55 UTC
I mean 4.0.1 is ok but then 4.0.2-r1 and 4.0.3 have the same error again.
Comment 6 Jason Zaman gentoo-dev 2015-05-18 12:02:14 UTC
Do the gentoo-sources kernels work? Is the problem hardened related only or both gentoo-sources and hardened-sources have the problem?

just to be clear,
hardened-sources-4.0.1 works
hardened-sources-4.0.2-r1 fails
hardened-sources-4.0.3 fails

is that correct? if you have tried any of the gentoo-sources, which exact versions and did they work / fail? And you used the exact same kernel config for all of them?
Comment 7 Jason Zaman gentoo-dev 2015-05-18 12:20:45 UTC
is this related?

This is an older bug. Is it fixed with the newer hardened sources? In particular is it fixed with hardened-sources-4.4.2?
