Does 3.0 compile?

at an unstable chroot image - yes
Comment 3 Johan Bergström 2015-03-28 09:46:15 UTC
Sorry, should've been more specific when asking. Does it compile on the same system as the one that fails with 2.12? If so, I'd suggest we stablereq it.

Ah - ok.

And yes, it compiles fine at a stable chroot box, where just this package is keyworded as ~amd64
Comment 5 Stepan Bogoslovskiy 2015-04-01 10:10:20 UTC
Same error on my system.
Other packages compile susccessfully. Haven't tried 3.0.
Comment 6 Thomas Raschbacher gentoo-dev 2015-04-21 13:52:25 UTC
I am not against stabilizing 3.0 in general, but I am not using it myself yet on any production system. Maybe I'll try it out on one of them before stabilizing.
Comment 7 Stijn Tintel 2015-06-22 16:52:55 UTC
I'm seeing this too on several amd64 systems. However, on one of those systems I installed libzdb-2.12 before this ticket was created, and back then it installed just fine.

sylvester ~ # qlop -gHv libzdb
libzdb-2.12: Tue Mar 10 14:26:31 2015: 11 seconds
libzdb: 1 times

Must be another package update that causes this problem.

FWIW, 3.0 installs fine for me as well.
Comment 8 Thomas Raschbacher gentoo-dev 2016-04-07 12:14:18 UTC
I do wonder what is causing this, but I shall really try out libzdb 3.0 soon myself and then stabilize this.

sorry for the long wait, but i've been quite busy outside Gentoo unfortunately

Not sure if this is a red herring or not, but it may help.

I went looking to see what provides the struct timespec which is giving me this error and came across the following link, which had an interesting reference to glibc http://www.gnu.org/software/libc/manual/html_node/Elapsed-Time.html

The GNU C Library provides two data types specifically for representing an elapsed time. They are used by various GNU C Library functions, and you can use them for your own purposes too. They’re exactly the same except that one has a resolution in microseconds, and the other, newer one, is in nanoseconds.

I had just updated my glibc to sys-libs/glibc-2.23-r3:2.2::gentoo from [2.22-r4:2.2::gentoo]

Coincidence?

Looks to be a red herring still fails with old glibc.

3.1 is in stable now
