Please, I need a better bug report than that.

ok, here it comes ;)

when using menuconfig via "make menuconfig" i can't choose
the bootsplash option.
if i manually add the "CONFIG_BOOTSPLASH=y"-option, the kernel
will compile&boot fine, but bootsplash doesn't show up.

this also happens when using development-sources with newest bootsplash-patch from here:

Comment 5 Greg Kroah-Hartman (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-06-22 08:16:19 UTC
Please file a new bug for this.

Also, when you do so, please attach a copy of your .config from a previous kernel
version that the bootsplash option worked, and a copy of your .config from your
current kernel in which it does not work.

Please make sure that you have enabled the following options, as they are
required:
CONFIG_FB_VESA
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_INITRD

And the option
CONFIG_REGPARM must be disabled in order for bootsplash to be built.

hi,
thanks for your answer, but the problem disapeared
after downloading the patch again.
seems like my downloaded patch was corrupted.

again, thanks, everything is fine again :)
