Looks like swig is no longer optional with USE="python" and USE="java" but mandatory as well.

Can you install swig:1 and see if that fixes things? If so then we can make the dependency hard.

Hhm, it failed at a stable chroot image due to deps on unstable packages (which I'd like to t to activated at it) :

MAKEOPTS=-j4 emerge -1  app-admin/setools
[ebuild  N    ] app-admin/setools-3.3.8-r6
[ebuild  N    ]  dev-tcltk/bwidget-1.9.0
[ebuild  N    ]  sys-libs/libselinux-2.4
[ebuild  N    ]   sys-libs/libsepol-2.4

The following keyword changes are necessary to proceed:
 (see "package.accept_keywords" in the portage(5) man page for more details)
# required by app-admin/setools (argument)
=app-admin/setools-3.3.8-r6 ~amd64
# required by app-admin/setools-3.3.8-r6
# required by app-admin/setools (argument)
=sys-libs/libsepol-2.4 ~amd64
# required by app-admin/setools-3.3.8-r6
# required by app-admin/setools (argument)
=sys-libs/libselinux-2.4 ~amd64

Use --autounmask-write to write changes to config files (honoring
CONFIG_PROTECT). Carefully examine the list of proposed changes,
paying special attention to mask or keyword changes that may expose
experimental or unstable packages.

Hi,

can you test out app-admin/setools-3.3.8-r7? I just added it to the tree with some patches that fix up SWIG. It should work with swig 2.0.9 now too.

I dropped keywords on it for testing, if it works for you then i'll add them back.

correct - I had however to accept 2 more unstable packages at this stable chroot - it builds fine now :

tor-relay / # emerge -1p app-admin/setools
[ebuild  N    ] app-admin/setools-3.3.8-r7
[ebuild     U ]  sys-libs/libselinux-2.4 [2.3-r2]
[ebuild     U ]   sys-libs/libsepol-2.4 [2.3]

tor-relay / # MAKEOPTS=-j4 emerge -1 app-admin/setools
>>> Verifying ebuild manifests
>>> Emerging (1 of 3) sys-libs/libsepol-2.4::gentoo
>>> Installing (1 of 3) sys-libs/libsepol-2.4::gentoo
>>> Emerging (2 of 3) sys-libs/libselinux-2.4::gentoo
>>> Installing (2 of 3) sys-libs/libselinux-2.4::gentoo
>>> Emerging (3 of 3) app-admin/setools-3.3.8-r7::gentoo
>>> Installing (3 of 3) app-admin/setools-3.3.8-r7::gentoo
tor-relay / #

Hi, thanks for testing!
yes, -r6 and -r7 have a hard dep on >=2.4 userland libraries for selinux since there was a change so that the older versions dont build. We will probably keep 2.4 in testing a little while longer since it is a rather big change and then stabilize everything together.

I will re-add the keywords to -r7 now.
