Hi, The sources can be found on other servers or got from other distroes like Ubuntu/Debian for example and put on Gentoo mirrors... A valid link for example can be found on: http://packages.ubuntu.com/vivid/kio-ftps pointing to the original (though dfsg) -> http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/k/kio-ftps/kio-ftps_0.2+dfsg.orig.tar.gz As another option I can provide the original (from my portage's distfiles) downloaded when berlios.de was working (it is 71KB only so I guess I can attach it in this bug also). The homepage of kio-ftps could be set to: http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/kio-ftps?content=35875 BTW kio-ftps is not at all superseded by kde-base/kdebase-kioslaves, because the latter doesn't provide ANY ftp(or ftps) kio. It provides fish and sftp kio-s which as you know are totally different things. Only kde-base/kdelibs provides a simple ftp kio with no secure connection at all... Besides every major distro supports kio-ftps no matter it is an old package (You can find it even in Ubuntu vivid)... Still the application compiles and works ok on KDE 4.14.3 So I propose not to remove it from portage but just mirror the sources, fix the homepage link and keep it in portage... Thanks

Sadly there is no alternative to kio ftps in KDE... This is the only way to use ftps in KDE kio subsytem... and that is why everyone keeps it in their packaging repos.... although it is not that perfect... BTW there is a bug report since 2003 (KDE 3 :) )about this feature, and sadly no response or anything done to incorporate and further refine the kio-ftps code into KDE SC :( More info here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=66117
